Alec is a young werewolf appearing in the final episode of the Teen Wolf in Season 6.  While Alec only appears in the single episode, creator Jeff Davis says the character represents the future of Scott McCall's Pack and is symbolic of the group's efforts to save supernaturals from the Hunters.

Alec is played by Benjamin Wadsworth.

Season 6[]

At some undefined point in the future, Scott McCall finds Alec wounded by an arrow and on the run from Monroe's hunters in Downtown Los Angeles. The Alpha and Chris Argent rescue the boy. Scott relates his story of transformation and fighting hunters. When he asks if it sounds familiar, Alec says everyone in his story is dead.

Scott and Chris bring Alec to a pre-determined meeting location (City Market in Los Angeles) where Stiles, Derek, Malia, Lydia, and Liam join them. Scott explains that they're all "different" and invites Alec to join them. He says they'll have to fight against Tamora Monroe and whoever comes next to protect the supernatural community.  (The Wolves of War)

Development[]

Jeff Davis discovered Benjamin Wadsworth during auditions for his Let the Right One In TV pilot project. While he also read Froy Gutierrez and Rhenzy Feliz (Aaron) for the show, Wadsworth landed the lead role of a young boy who befriends a female vampire.

While the show languished in development and did not go into production, Davis cast all three of the actors in the final season of Teen Wolf. The writer/producer says the fact Wadsworth has a lot in common with a younger Tyler Posey was part of the reason for creating the role and casting the actor.

“I will tell you, the fact they sort of look similar did make me happy. I had this idea for the last scene a long time ago, and I thought to myself, ‘I really hope this works. I hope this plays out.’ It feels like a really good series finale. It carries the message of the show forward. It has a lot to do with this new character Alec played by Ben Wadsworth.”

This "full circle" moment is illustrated when Alec says Monroe called him a monster. Scott echoes a line we've heard a number of times on the show, "You're not a monster. You're a werewolf like me."
