Colton Haynes is an American actor and model who played Jackson Whittemore on MTV's Teen Wolf during Season 1 and Season 2.

Early Life

Colton Lee Haynes was born on July 13, 1988, in Andale, Kansas. Haynes grew up on a farm in Andale and has also lived in Arkansas, New Mexico, Texas, and Florida. He attended many high schools until graduating from Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz, Texas.

He is one half Native American, a member of the Cherokee Nation.

At the age of 15, Haynes started his modeling career in New York City where he worked with famed photographer Bruce Weber for Abercrombie & Fitch. Haynes later appeared in ad campaigns for Kira Plastinina and J.C. Penney.

Career

After moving to Los Angeles, he began acting in television series such as CSI: Miami and Pushing Daisies.

In 2010 he was cast as Brett Crezski, a jock turned werewolf, on the short-lived ABC television series, The Gates.

Haynes also appeared in music videos for musical acts like My Chemical Romance, Leona Lewis, Victoria Justice and Andy Grammer.

Teen Wolf was not Haynes' first appearance on MTV. He appeared on The Hills in seasons two and three.

After leaving Teen Wolf, Haynes was cast in the role of Roy Harper in the CW show Arrow and appeared as a series regular in the show's second season and most of its third. His character has since left the show, returning only once to reprise his role in the fourth season episode "Unchained".

His most recent role was on the big screen with San Andreas starring Dwayne Johnson.

Teen Wolf

During Season 2, the crew had to make adjustments to Haynes' Kanima appearance due to him being allergic to the original make up used.

Following the season's end, a contract dispute between Teen Wolf Producers and Haynes' management led to announcements that the actor would not return for Season 3.

At the time of Haynes exit, Jeff Davis said he'd left the door open for Colton to return to the show if he chooses. In 2017, during filming for the final five episodes of the series, Haynes announced via Facebook and Instagram that he'd been asked to return to the show. Davis confirmed the contract talks to Teen Wolf News and Haynes returned for the final episodes of the series.

Haynes returned for the 2023 film, Teen Wolf: The Movie with a much larger capacity.
