One of the biggest myths about Teen Wolf has to do with Season 3 villain Deucalion. Let’s clear this up right out of the gate, Deucalion is not and has never been a "Demon Wolf" because there is no such thing as a "Demon Wolf".

Origin of Misunderstanding[]

When Deucalion got around to really introducing himself in the Season 3 episode Unleashed, he did so with these melodramatic proclamations.

I am the Alpha of Alphas.

I am the apex of apex predators.

I am death, destroyer of worlds.

I am the Demon Wolf.

Complete with a symphony of thunder and lightning punctuating each line, Deucalion gave new meaning to narcissism with this brief but memorable monologue. Unfortunately, some fans believed his narcissistic rantings.

The Truth[]

Part of what he said was true. He is the Alpha of Alphas. He literally leads a pack of other alphas.

And if Werewolves are the apex predators in the Teen Wolf Universe and since Deucalion hunts and kills werewolves then you could say he is indeed the apex predator’s predator.

The Nonsense[]

The "death destroyer of worlds” line is from a couple of cultural sources. It's a quote made famous by Robert Oppenheimer, the guy who helped create the first Atomic Bomb. But the scientist got it from a Hindu text where it is apparently spoken by a god on the eve of battle. In both instances the speaker is claiming dominion over life and death and in Deucalion’s case that’s just his narcissism talking.

Finally, the "Demon Wolf" thing, we first answered this question back in 2016. Teen Wolf Wiki contacted Teen Wolf Creator and Executive Producer Jeff Davis asking "Demon Wolf is just Hyperbole or a real thing that someone might actually become?"

His answer is clear – "Hyperbole".

Demon Wolf is not a thing. It’s not a creature. It’s a boast.
