Toby Wilkins is a British film director who worked on MTV's Teen Wolf.

Career[]

The youngest son of playwright and novelist Christopher Wilkins, Toby relocated to Los Angeles in the '90s to pursue a career in the film industry. It was through short films like I Lost 20lbs in Two Months, Ask Me How, What Is the Source of Bertha's Bliss?, Kidney Thieves, The Unbreakable Likeness of Lincoln, and Staring at the Sun that Wilkins developed an extensive background in design, visual effects, cinematography, editing, writing, and directing.

As a visual effects artist, Wilkins contributed to films like Rush Hour 2, Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, Ghosts of the Abyss, Red Dragon, Cats & Dogs, The Adventures of Pluto Nash, The Clearing, The Manchurian Candidate (2004), and The Master of Disguise.

He gained acclaim through his film Splinter where he also oversaw visual effects. He also contributed to films Beneath, Nesting, and The Grudge 3 which he also directed. He also worked on television shows like StartUp, Chosen, Devil's Trade, and Dark Wall.

Teen Wolf[]

In 2011, he was tapped by show runner Jeff Davis to direct in the first season of his series not knowing it would become a smash hit. He directed the episodes Magic Bullet, The Tell, and Heart Monitor.
