Lily Mariye is an American actor, writer, director and producer who portrayed Satomi Ito in Season 3 and Season 4 of MTV's Teen Wolf.
Education[]
Mariye earned a BA for theatre arts at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Career[]
In 1982, Mariye landed her first television role in the drama series, Lou Grant and a small role in the film The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Despite it being in minor roles, this lead to roles in other television series like Fame, Knots Landing, Family Ties, Remington Steele, Who's The Boss?, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and St. Elsewhere.
Eventually, Mariye landed her most famous role of Nurse Lily Jarvik in the medical drama series ER, which ran for fifteen seasons from 1994 to 2009. She would win the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Ensemble along with the rest of the cast.
In 1991, she got the role of a nurse in the fantasy/comedy film, Switch and had small roles in films like Extraordinary Measures, The Doctor, Mighty Joe Young, Ted & Venus and Rosanne & Tom: Behind the Scenes.
Mariye earned a recurring role in 1995 television series, Signs And Wonders as Agent Sung. During and after ER, Mariye appeared in more shows like Melrose Place, Chicago Hope, Shameless, NCIS: Los Angeles, Criminal Minds, and General Hospital.
Aside form acting, Mariye has also taken up directing starting with her own screenplay, the Shangri-La Cafe in 2000. In 2012, she was chosen to participate in the Disney/ABC/DGA Directing Program during which she wrote and directed the critically acclaimed Model Minority.
