Lindsay Jewett Sturman is a producer and writer who succeeded Jeff Davis as the head writer on MTV's Teen Wolf.
Career[]
Sturman started her career in the film industry in the early 90s as a production assistant before becoming a film editor for the short Stick Up and the video documentaries Easy Rider: Shaking the Cage and A Song of Africa. Eventually she made her way into writing.
She served as a writer and story editor for shows like Odyssey 5, Family Law, Bionic Woman, Rizzoli & Isles, NCIS: Los Angles, Cult, Harper's Island, Close to Home and Battle Creek. Sturman would soon move up to both supervising and consulting producer for a few of these shows.
In 2004, she started a charter school, Larchmont, to compensate the overcrowding of her local elementary school. With 1600 students across 4 campuses, Larchmont is one of the highest-performing schools in Los Angeles and has inspired other charter school programs across Southern California.
Teen Wolf[]
Being a Teen Wolf fan already, she was excited to be onboard with the crew and was listed as "consulting producer." In Season 5, she wrote the episode Amplification.
Before Season 6, Sturman was appointed by Jeff Davis to be the executive producer for the staff with Eric Wallace as co-executive. She wrote the season opener Memory Lost and, with Joseph P. Genier, wrote the mid-season finale Riders on the Storm. The final episode she wrote for the show was Broken Glass.
Here's what she said in an interview about her experience with show,
“What is so fun about being a writer on the show is that I am still a fan. I will watch an episode for the 3rd, 4th, 5th time and still react, still be moved, and still tear up. Having fallen in love with the characters and their stories, it is a thrill to imagine more for them.”
