Reishi mushroom, also known Lingzhi mushrooms, are medicinal mushrooms commonly found in Asian countries used in Chinese medicine for over 2,000 years.
The name "Lingzhi" when translated means "soul/spirit mushroom".
Real World Properties[]
Coming in many varieties, reishi has been used to cure or ease various aliments. Such treatments with this fungi include stiff necks, stiff shoulders, conjunctivitis, bronchitis, rheumatism, and improving the immune system without any significant side-effects.
Because of its bitter taste, it is traditionally prepared as a hot water extract product. It is thinly sliced or pulverized and added to a pot of boiling water. The resulting liquid is fairly bitter in taste and dark colored.
