To get some progress to sort out the categories, I have compiled a rough outline of the current situation, which includes the tree from the “root category” (Browse) down to the relevant branches and pages as well as a listing of unconnected categories.
Beneath that I tried to create a first sketch for a simplified structure and add points where I am not sure about or are options.
Please take a look and share your thoughts. I post this as a blog so other people can post their comments below.
THE FOLLOWING PART IS INCLUDED
This page is an attempt to get an overview on the current category mess and a work in progress on a better solution.

other options/open questions[]
- use further sub division for characters? (age, gender,…)
- replace “Mythology” by the term “Background” (or something similar, suggestions?)
- would make a possible category for Hale Arson Conspiracy
- what to do with category “Seasons” (possibility: Seasons › Season 1 › Season 1 episodes, etc.)
- use “Season 1 episodes” instead of “Episodes” (maybe later as Season 2 starts airing)
