Poor Lydia has been haunted all season by hallucinations of Peter Hale walking around the school barefoot and trapped under the ice at the skating rink.
Could she be possessed by the dead alpha werewolf?
This didn't occur to me until Episode 4 when she quoted something Peter had said to Scott.
The quote -"Sometimes the people closest to you could be holding you back the most" - is from Peter's failed attempt to get Scott to join him in seeking revenge against the people who killed the Hale family.
For Lydia, it comes during a counseling session with Ms. Morrell about how supportive her friends have been since her attack and subsequent foray into nude forestry.
I trust Jeff Davis and the other writers will have something completely unexpected planned to explain the connection but my guess is spiritual possession.
