Teen Wolf News Special Report
Location, Location, Location
This weekend I uncovered a cache of never before published behind the scenes images from the Teen Wolf Production team.
It seems like a good time to do a quick review of some of the locations used during the filming of Season 3 so far.
Various - Acton, California[]
This week we heard from actor Michael Fjordbak (Young Peter Hale) that Teen Wolf was still on location in Acton, California.
I mistakenly believed they were still using the Acton Scuba Services location. That is not the case.
They've moved on for some real night shoots as seen here in a behind the camera photo from crew member Tim Cobb.

Acton will apparently get a good bit of screen time during the first half of Season 3.
The crew spent a week just outside of town back at the beginning of February.
An area off the Crown Valley Road in Soledad Canyon served as the backdrop for a number of scenes featuring most of the young cast, Coach Finstock and a School Bus.
The Soledad Canyon Location is one of the most photographed because Teen Wolf Official Tweeter/Tumblr/Social Media Guy Matt McDonough was there that week and a reporter was on site as well.
This was also the location seen in the "100 Days" video -
Once Cast and Crew wrapped on the road, it was back to night shoots and what appears to be one of the largest and most complicated scenes so far.
Abandoned Mall - Hawthorne, California[]
On February 7th Teen Wolf took over an abandoned mall in Hawthorne, California.
Here's one of our never before published images from that shoot courtesy of Tim Cobb next to a shot we got from Tyler Posey on the day of the shoot.
This was a huge night for werewolves as we saw in another Tyler Posey shot from inside the Makeup Trailer.

Lots of werewolves and lots of stunts too according to a tweet from Adelaide Kane reporting that her stunt double got all busted up during the night.
@AdelaideKane - @NataliePadilla8 Aw! Best stuntie ever! How are those bruises you poor thing?!
Martial Arts expert Caitlin Dechelle was at the Hawthorne Mall shoot too and reported that many Alphas were in attendance.
@caitlindechelle - Had a great few days with the #TeenWolf crew :) @gideonemery @maxcarver @TylerL_Hoechlin @AdelaideKane @NataliePadilla8
Teen Wolf Official also gave us a bit of beefcake with Charlie and Max Carver in Hawthorne.

Sinqua Walls, JR Bourne and Crystal Reed were on hand as well suggesting a Hunter/Alpha Pack/Derek Pack clash of the titans.
It was also a technically complex two night shoot with cameras mounted on huge cranes.

That's a 75 foot crane meaning some amazing shots should be forthcoming.
Motel Glen Capri - Glendale, California[]
After their trip to the Mall, the Teen Wolf Family spent a few days close to home at their Northridge, California HQ before heading just down road to Glendale and the Motel Glen Capri.
We've reported quite a bit about this location in an earlier report but we have some new pictures of just what we can expect to see on screen.
These are both from crew member Tim Cobb. The first is the now familiar exterior of the Mid Century Modern Motel while the second image is of a motel room set built at Teen Wolf Studios in Northridge.
It looks very different from the actual rooms at the Motel Glen Capri seen here in shots of Tyler Posey and Dylan O'Brien jumping on the bed.
Jail Set - Willow Studios[]
Earlier in the shoot, the production made use of some standing sets at Willow Studios in Los Angeles.
This is a one stop shop with ready to use sets for apartments, offices, restaurants and bars.
The folks from Teen Wolf were more interested in their basement.
Production Manager Sam Childs scouted the Willow Studios' Jail Set back in January.
We got a couple of shots during that shoot from Ian Bohen and Adelaide Kane.
Forest - Thousand Oaks, California[]
Another Early location was near Thousand Oaks, California.
It's a wooded area seen here in another shot taken during that January tech scout with Sam Childs.

It probably looks more familiar at night.

We know the scene involved Sheriff Stilinski, Peter Hale, and Chris Argent because this was the area where Ian Bohen was showing off his photography skills with some shots of JR Bourne.
Stiles' Jeep - Encino, California? Woodley Park[]
And finally, an early location we've not yet be able to identify.
UPDATE: These were shot in Woodley Park in Van Nuys.
The first is from Teen Wolf Tumblr the second another behind the camera shot from Tim Cobb Jihad JZ Ziyad.
These were shot just before the crew wrapped for their holiday break - we know they were shooting Shantal Rhodes scenes that same night.
We know these were all inside a house in Encino, California but I've not found a stretch of road nearby that matches the Jeep shots.
UPDATE - Turns out the road shots were done in Woodley Park in Van Nuys, California. They returned to the same location in April for additional filming.
That's a lot of ground covered and they're not even half way done shooting Season 3.
We'll continue to keep you updated with all the action at our special Behind the Scenes page.
