Interviews? Why Yes, We have Interviews

In the run up to the Monday premiere (10PM EST on MTV), we’re getting a lot of talk, talk, talk about the show from all sources.

There is a really interesting interview with Tyler Posey over at Entertainment Weekly.

Some of the highlights –

  • He says he “wasn’t good at acting” during Season 1
  • Allison and Scott are “just friends”
  • People who understand the mythology are “werewolf enthusiasts”
  • The relationship with Scott's Dad is complicated and will extend into Season 4
  • He was in werewolf makeup for the entire last day of filming
  • As an actor, he’s jealous of the Stiles part in Season 3b

There’s bunches more. It’s a fun read, but try not to read too much into it. I didn't see a lot of “between the lines” hints at what’s to come.

Check out EW.Com for the full shebang.

The Backlot.com (I'm just now getting that the website name is a reference to someone’s bum) has an interview with Charlie Carver.

It’s fun and mostly focused on the gay stuff, the Danny/Ethan dynamic and how the actor enjoyed the make-out scene in Motel California as opposed to anything new and interesting about shooting the new episodes.

It’s worth a look in over at TheBackLot.com.

Jeff Actually Said IT!

With the release of the new Teen Wolf Opening Credits, people have been referencing an earlier interview in which Jeff Davis said they might have to change the credits for Season 4 because somebody is going to die.

The new credit sequence still has all the show’s big names, Scott McCall. Stiles Stilinski, Derek Hale, Lydia Martin and Allison Argent. No new cast members were added and so, holding Jeff to his word, we’re losing someone pretty important.

Here’s the exact quote –

"Prepare to lose someone. We will possibly be changing our main title sequence. So - not everyone is going to make it out of this season alive."

For your edification (and in case you don’t trust me), here is the actual video where he condemned one of the players to death.

Monday MTV Marathon

MTV will give over most of its airtime on Monday to Teen Wolf

The show will run continuously starting at 3AM EST on Monday morning, right up until the 10PM debut of episode 313. They’re actually starting in Season 2 with the episode Abomination. The Season 3(a) episodes begin at 12 Noon EST with Tattoo.

The marathon will be presented with limited commercial interruptions.

MTV Muddles the Mythology

There's another unhelpful effort over at the Remote Control Blog. Writer Matthew Scott Donnelly did a treatise on the kitsune myth today.

It’s not a bad overview of the various and sundry myths about magical foxes but it’s important to point out that the article is NOT about the Teen Wolf Kitsune Myth which has yet to be established.

Jeff Davis always twists existing mythology in new and interesting ways for the show and we've no reason to think he won’t do it this time.

The only thing I don’t really like about the Remote Control piece is the fact that it's published on the same website that doles out legitimate information about Teen Wolf.

Hosting it on the "mothership", MTV.com, gives it an aura of “insider information” when, in actuality, it offers nothing of the sort.

It’s simply a google search for “kitsune” reduced to 400 words and will only serve to confuse people when it comes to how the creature actually develops on the show.
