7.7 Million Stream Episode 511
The gap between the traditional ratings and the actual number of people watching Teen Wolf continues to grow.
While the Nielsen fast overnight numbers for the January premiere showed just over a million viewers watching live on television, Executive Producer Jeff Davis says millions more watched The Last Chimera via alternative means in the first week after the broadcast. “The premiere episode of 5B has actually done about 7.7 million streams,” he said in an email on January 13 adding, “I’m glad they’re finally releasing this information.”
Even if some viewers watched multiple times, that's still about 7 million people for just one episode.
Teen Wolf News is still looking for a reliable weekly source of the +3 and +7 ratings numbers from Nielsen, but, as of now, there is no accurate means of reporting ratings information for the show.
The fact that most viewing for MTV shows has moved to alternative means was evident early this month when the network released four episodes of its big budget fantasy show The Shannara Chronicles on the MTV App for binge watching. They still heavily promoted the television broadcast but, when the final numbers come in, the majority of views will likely be through this alternative streaming option.
Teen Wolf Wikia has requested full weekly streaming information from MTV. We are awaiting their response.

The Sword and the Spirit
The title of next week’s episode is a bit of a mystery. It seems to reference Kira since she’s got the sword and her fox spirit is acting up but the synopsis released by MTV doesn’t say a word about her.
- As Scott tries to put his pack back together, Malia and a new ally set out to rescue Deaton from The Desert Wolf.
I’m sure Deaton will be glad to hear help is on the way. Teen Wolf airs Tuesday’s at 9PM on MTV and is available for streaming on the MTV App, iTunes and Amazon Video.
Posey Makes the Rounds
Teen Wolf Tyler Posey made the rounds of some LA-based talk shows this week.
He did Access Hollywood.
He also did Young Hollywood and Larry King. YH hasn’t posted the full clip but they do have a snippet on their facebook page.
