Actors Return to Northridge

Some of the Teen Wolf Cast reported to the Northridge, CA HQ this week.

Arden Cho was in for a costume fitting before heading off to NYC where she will co-host the 3rd Annual DramaFever Awards on Thursday Feb 5.

Linden Ashby was at the studio this week too. He said it was like school orientation. “Went to work today @MTVteenwolf. It's like getting your books and schedule before the first day of school!” He’s still got some time before classes begin though. He and Tyler Posey say they plan to go surfing together later this week.

While the actors get their pre-production work out of the way, the crew is busy setting up for filming.

Production Manager and recent birthday boy Sam Childs gathered his merry band and headed out this morning in what I like to call the Teen Wolf Party Bus. They spent the day doing a "Tech Scout" on the locations they’ll use for in the first block of Season 5 episodes.

Back at HQ, Costume Supervisor Danny Flores was busy today dumping all the bloody costumes used in Season 4.

It was apparently a fragrant pile of cloth according to a sarcastic Meagan Tandy, “I'm sure it smells like roses!” Danny agreed, “That’s why it’s outside.”

Danny and set costumer Adam West also brought in truckloads of costumes this week for the season ahead.

New Report: Teen Wolf Ratings Higher

Recent information from the Nielsen Company suggests Teen Wolf averaged an audience of more than 3.9 million viewers for all Season 4 episodes.

Apparently only 41% of Teen Wolf’s measured audience actually watched the episodes live at 10pm on Monday nights. Nielsen says the remaining 59% watched through DVR or VOD during the first 7 days after the initial airing. That means the episode rating numbers reported on Tuesdays, the ones every publication relies on currently as “The Rating” for each episode, are actually far too low.

When you factor in the 59% of viewers that time-shift the show, Season 4’s average audience of 1.6 million grows to more than 3.9 million. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to the time-shifted numbers for other years so I can’t directly compare this with other seasons.

The current TV Ratings system is in flux. Nielsen is attempting to account for all the viewers in the changing landscape but can't do it as fast as the viewing options develop. The 3.9 million figure just covers those viewers they can count - the actual number of people watching Teen Wolf would be higher still.

New Teen Wolf Wiki APP

The Wikia Mothership has gifted us with a new Teen Wolf Wiki app.

App 1

It has limited functionality right now. While all our articles are there, there are no forums and the news articles (like this one) don’t show up at all. There is also a problem with running videos on the article pages and you can’t edit or interact (forums, blog comments) within the app.

You can, however, use it to settle arguments or for quick reference if you’re writing a fanfic or trying to remember a detail and best of all it’s FREE!

Search "Wikia" in Google Play or the iTunes App Store to download it to your phone.

Wikia Contest Plug

Speaking of the Mothership, Wikia is doing a TV Ships Contest. Details are here - http://teenwolf.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Asnow89/Submit_SHIPS_for_our_2015_Ships_Bracket_Tournament

Good Advice from Mom

We’ve had a number of questions in the forum about some badly sourced stories in the media and apparently the rumors have reached Melissa Ponzio.

Teen Wolf News Melissa Ponzio rumor tweet

That is excellent advice and to that end – here is my own list of sources I no longer click in pursuit of factual information about Teen Wolf.

  • Fashion&Style
  • Venture Capital Post
  • MoviePilot
  • Design&Trend
  • Latinos Post
  • Crossmap
  • BREATHEcast
  • Christian Post
  • Master Herald

These publications, and a few others, do nothing but recycle rumors and use each other as sources. They churn out two to three "Teen Wolf" stories a day. It is nothing but clickbait. Hell, the MoviePilot story this week was a copy/paste of our Season 5 page - including the video.

If you need another reason to avoid these – a few use some pretty aggressive tracking malware (according to my security programs) that really wanted to highjack my browser.
