Teen Wolf Guilty of Elder Abuse

If you’re not following the parents of Teen Wolf on twitter – you’re missing out. This week saw the cast back outside during overnight shoots that led to much faux misery for some of the show’s… um, older cast.

@lindenashby - Writer's Rm.."I know! Let's get em to lay in the road all night!""Yeah.. The old ones... In water!""Hehehe. yees, waater..Cold water!""Yay!"
@MatthewDelNegro -.@lindenashby damn them! I have to say, those last few takes were hysterical. A Boston accent always produces laughs at 4am.

@lindenashby - @MatthewDelNegro Matty was so cold n wet by the end, I thought his arms, legs, back, and especially his neck were just going to crack apart.

So when you watch this scene with Linden Ashby and Matthew Del Negro play out during Season 4 – you’ll know how our “dads” suffered for your enjoyment!

Speaking of Season 4

MTV released the synopsis for Teen Wolf Season 4 this week.

“The Benefactor” automatically made me think of Buffy the Vampire Slayer villains.

Teen Wolf Unchallenged

It appears Teen Wolf won’t face any serious competition as MTV’s #1 scripted drama any time soon.

The network announced its line-up of new shows this week at a meeting of advertisers and media types in New York City.

The annual Upfronts are designed to get advertisers to jump on board before they air. It’s where networks get the lion’s share of their ad buys each year.

With all the flash and noise you would expect, MTV trotted out a slate of new programming that, once again, is mostly reality shows.

The twists on the genre this time around include a cooking show called The Snack Off featuring “munchies,” a dance/stunt show called Beyond Dance, and a new realitysoap, which appears to be a replacement for the doomed Buckwild, called Slednecks about redneck teens in Alaska. Get it? Sled-necks… Only The Snack Off is ready to air with a July debut set.

As far as scripted fare – the only thing they have ready to air is a new show called Finding Carter in which “A teenager finds out she was abducted as a toddler and returns to her biological family.”

I’ve not seen a script or even the tease for this one but it sounds both familiar (Separated at Birth) and depressing.

I’m not saying it won’t be great. It could be the bestest, most well written thing on TV, but it doesn’t seem all that “mass appeal” to me at first blush and certainly isn’t competition for the Wolf’s crown.

Finding Carter will debut in July about two weeks after Teen Wolf’s summer opener.

The other new scripted show said to be in the works is the reality-based anthology series One Bad Choice which will dramatize stories pulled from real life, but it too lacks an airdate.

Of course, just because they talk about stuff at these things doesn’t mean they’ll actually happen. Remember the big story out of last year’s Upfronts that had erbody talking? It was SCREAM, touted as the next great MTV scripted effort. Yeah, um, that.

Also missing from the schedule is the takenbacktotheshopforaretooling Eye Candy with Victoria Justice and Teen Wolf Producer Christian Taylor. This will be the network’s first foray into the crime procedural genre – if it makes it to air.
