Is Theo Crazy?
Just finished editing my short video interview with Cody Christian. As explained below, beyond the canon questions for Jeff, I didn't have a lot to ask the other folks.
As a result, this interview is kind of indulgent on my part in that I just asked him stuff I was wondering about.
Cody Christian Teen Wolf Interview SDCC
Saturday 071115
My lagging brain has me up again at 4 AM. I used to laugh at the idea that a 4 hour plane ride could f with people's lives like this. Then, last night, I fell asleep in a "world premiere" event at 7PM. Granted, it was a DC Animation event so, um, falling asleep may have just been a natural reaction to the film.
I'll blame it on the lag.
AlphaKen pointed out that I've been depending on Twitter a bunch to cover this thing but some folks, like him, are not on the twitter, so I'll repeat some of the important stuff for you here. There is also a widget below with a rolling stream of my tweets so you can read through that if you like.
- Just confirmed with Jeff - Zero Ambiguity, Dylan O'Brien will be back for Season 6. #TeenWolf #WikiaLive
- They didn't say it in the panel but Hollywood Reporter is saying #TeenWolf Season 6 will be 20 episodes. #WikaLive http://t.co/0diI55ho3D
- Jeff says there are no plans to bring Derek back unless Hoechlin changes his mind. #WikiaLive #TeenWolf #SDCC
- Tyler says Scott feels like he doesn't know what he's doing. Wondering if another Alpha would do a better job. #WikiaLive #SDCC
- Holland confused the words "art" and "arc" meaning she gave a very confused answer. Shelley says "You're so pretty." #WikiaLive #SDCC
Okay, that last one isn't really "important" but it was one of the funnier moments of the panel, which you can watch right here -
Teen Wolf Comic Con 2015 Panel - Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig
After my DC Animation nap, I was able to put together this short video thing with Dylan Sprayberry from the press line.
There's not much to the interview.
In all honesty - I just tried to make him laugh a couple times. Seriously, after listening to the guy say he "can't say" to all the other reporters on the line, I just figured he could use a break.
Dylan Sprayberry Teen Wolf Interview SDCC
Once some of those other folks post their press room stuff, I'll do a big link dump for you so you can get the full experience.
After breakfast, I'll edit together my Cody Christian video. My Posey stuff, as stated below, has nothing to do with Teen Wolf. He's been doing ALOT of press about the show this season so pretty much everything he can say about it is out there already. I'll add some of it to the aforementioned link dump.
Jeff Davis Talks Canon
Press Rooms are funny things. There are about 50 people in a small meeting room at the Hilton next door to the main Comic Con site. Most of them are seated at round-tables and will interview the actors as a group. I'm in another part of the room on a press line meaning I get to do my interviews one-on-one.
Some of these other folks on the line I know from their work covering the show.
The women of Hypable and Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast are in the house, as is the very beautiful reporter from Clevver TV (Misty Kingma) and the hosts of AfterBuzz.
These are the same hosts from AfterBuzz that I've complained about mercilessly on this site so of course, karma being what it is, they are assigned to stand right next to me on the press line.
I'll spare you the details of being forced to listen to 20 people ask variations on the exact same questions to Tyler Posey, Cody Christian, Dylan Sprayberry and Jeff Davis. Of course, I didn't have to worry about following the crowd with my interview because I knew nobody in that group would ask about actual canon.
I'm posting the Jeff interview now because these are the questions you wanted answered.
I will say he hedged on a couple, specifically the age question. It was a two-part thing and he latched on to the second half. Even though he doesn't definitively answer that one, what he does say removes at least one of the issues that tends to confuse the age question.
Jeff Davis Answers Teen Wolf Canon Questions
Also, Jeff made it very clear that Dylan O'Brien is already under contract for Season 6. That was after we were done and he came over to talk to me about Teen Wolf Wikia. Turns out he loves the site which is a fair trade off since we love the show!
To be honest I didn't ask Cody, Sprayberry and Posey much about the show at all. They can't talk about the future stuff and there are literally 10 other videos where they say they can't talk about that stuff so I didn't want to waste my time. Instead, I talked to Sprayberry about how gross the show is this season and Metallica. I talked to Cody about how they faked him skateboarding at the Humpbowl and I talked to Posey about his podcast and the music stuff he's doing. I don't know when I'll get those uploaded but it will definitely be part of Teen Wolf News Weekly on Tuesday.

Jet Lag – the struggle is real.
I’m up at 5 AM because back home it would be like 8 and my body insists it’s time to get up even though it’s not.
I’m making the most of this extra productive time foisted on me by my faulty and confused body clock by re-watching the Teen Wolf SDCC panel I live tweeted yesterday. It turns out, one cannot live tweet and really pay attention to what is going on up on stage.
A few points I wanted to clarify from yesterday’s reporting –
Jeff on the Ratings[]
After announcing that Teen Wolf has been renewed for a Season 6, Jeff explained that the traditional television ratings are not reflective of actual viewership for the show.
This is a trend that Teen Wolf News has reported on several times during the past year and a half. Here’s what Jeff had to say about how people watch the show now.
- “In 2014 we did 118 million streams which is incredible. Then our aggregate number is upwards of 8 million per episode. Millennials and people under 25 do watch the show in very different ways these days so, as long as you guys keep watching it we’ll keep making it.”
Again, this is familiar territory for those who follow the reporting here on the site.
Jeff on Season 6 Casting[]
While he was announcing that MTV ordered a Season 6, Jeff also turned to Dylan O’Brien and said -
“You’re coming back too Dylan. Both of them.”
The latter bit refers to Dylan Sprayberry.
Two points on this –
- Dylan O'Brien looked surprised and, as far as we know, he is not under contract beyond the 20 episodes of Season 5.
I’ll try to clarify this with Jeff today during our interview.
Jeff on Tyler Hoechlin returning to Teen Wolf[]
When asked when the Derek character would return, Jeff put it all on Hoechlin.
“It’s up to him so tweet him. Tweet him and tell him ‘get your ass back to Teen Wolf.’”
Dylan O’Brien tried to take a little pressure off his boss on this front. “All the behind the scenes stuff, a lot of these characters, have to do with contracts. Jeff would love to have everyone on the show always.”
The panel is fun. A lot of the great interaction stuff I missed while tweeting out the newsy bits. I recommend that you watch the whole thing here -
Teen Wolf Comic Con 2015 Panel - Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig
My interviews with some of the Teen Wolf cast are set for this afternoon. I'll try to start posting videos right away but I have a few other duties I need to perform for the Wikia Mothership that might cause some delay. Once they're up - you can see them here or over at the Teen Wolf Wikia YouTube Page.
Thursday 070915
Thursday dawned with overcast and fog in San Diego. The Teen Wolf Panel is 11 hours away but Matt from MTV has yet to provide me with the promised "Panel Passes" so I think that means I'll spend most of that time in line with all the other fans to gain access.
They're doing it in Ballroom 20 which is a sizable hall so I shouldn't have too much trouble getting in plus waiting will give me a chance to talk with folks about the show which is always fun so I'm only slightly annoyed with the network at this point.
If I get any good video, I'll post it here on this page or over at the Teen Wolf Wikia YouTube page but I won't be trying to video the whole panel mainly because my camera lacks the memory capacity to do it and get all the other stuff I need done.
I will be live tweeting the most interesting bits of the panel between 8 PM and 9 PM EDT (5 PM to 6PM PDT) If you can't see our Twitter widget here below for some reason, follow along at @teenwolfwikia.
UPDATE Thursday 11:50 PM EDT -
Y'all! It's really hard to update stuff when you're actually stuck in the middle of all this nonsense. I'm just done editing a short video of fans I met at the panel today check it out below.
I'll write something longer on what we learned during the panel later on - in the meantime read the live twitter feed above for some decent info about what's to come and check out the preview video they showed.

Tomorrow, I've got live interviews. I think I'll get to talk to Jeff Davis for sure but the rest of the press availablity is still a bit of an unknown at this point. I'll begin posting that stuff at about 8PM EDT on Friday.
Wednesday 070815
And we're off! The Wikia Mothership laid on a special train car for the trip from Los Angles to San Diego complete with entertainment in transit.

The Library Bards and ComicBookGirl19 were great.
I sat with Dark Horse Comic Senior Editor Dave Marshall during most of the ride and also met Jody Houser the amazing woman who writes the Orphan Black comic.
Check out Wikia Live or just search the #WikiaLive hashtag on Twitter for tons of images and video of the "Fan Express."
It also appears Keahu Kahuanui was on the same train albeit in a different car or on a different train on the same track. Either way we arrived in San Diego at about the same time.

I'll spare you the photos of the really long lines to get in to register and get my credentials. Rest assured it was long and slow.

I ran by the MTV booth first thing to say hi to the network's Director of Fan Engagement Matt McDonough.
Matt's been my primary contact in New York since forever but he was busy talking to Sword of Shannara author Terry Brooks and didn't have much time for me. That's actually the vibe I got from the booth this year - no time for Teen Wolf.
It's all decked out to promote SCREAM and Shannara Chronicles with very little love for Teen Wolf at all.
You can, however, take a blood canon to the face as part of the SCREAM experience so...

Here is the video of that shot to the face.
Tuesday 070715
I’m writing this Teen Wolf News update in a Little Tokyo hotel room in Los Angeles, California. Tomorrow, I’ll make the short trek over to Union Station and board a train bound for San Diego Comic Con.
The folks inside the Wikia Mothership thought it might be fun to fly me out here to cover Teen Wolf at the convention and for the past few weeks Teen Wolf Wikia users have been sending me some great questions to ask Jeff Davis and the cast during interviews on Friday.
I’ll warn you now, I don’t expect them to give me much time (if any) with Jeff but I plan to make the most of it.
Here are a few of the questions y’all submitted that seem to come up again and again here on the site.
- How did Laura Hale become an alpha?
- Does being a true alpha make Scott more powerful than other alphas or just morally superior?
- Can you define how packs work and more specifically what is required for membership?
- How do Werewolves age and more specifically why does Satomi still look exactly as she did 70 years ago while Peter and Derek seem to age normally?
If I have time, I’ll ask him more but those are what I’m working with for now to (hopefully) clear up some of the existing canon.
Videos of my interviews will be posted on Friday at the Teen Wolf Wikia YouTube page and here on the site. I’ll also be live-tweeting the Teen Wolf Panel on Thursday at @teenwolfwikia.
There will also be updates over at the Teen Wolf Wikia tumblr.
Most of the Teen Wolf stuff kicks off on Thursday afternoon with the panel so be sure to check in with us for the very latest.
While I expect the whole experience will be a little insane, Teen Wolf News will bring you as much Comic Con coverage as you can handle here on Teen Wolf Wikia.
Over at Wikia LIVE, I'll also be bringing you updates on MTV's other shows. SCREAM has a panel set for Friday and the cast of the new fantasy drama The Shannara Chronicles will be there too. Check out the Wikia LIVE site for full event coverage.
